Description

Zankai is an independent game studio that released Suika Shapes in 2023 and Sklime in 2024.

History

Early history

Amidst the Suika Game craze of late 2023, Suika Shapes was developed to provide a multitude of new gameplay options compared to Suika Game, and a smooth PC experience with rotation mechanics. Suika Shapes also features co-operative and versus multiplayer. Development was decided after the popularity of an early version of the game released on itch.io, reaching 50 thousand plays in a short time period. It was Zankai's first game and continues to receive occasional small updates.

Looking forward

After a couple years of development, Zankai released Sklime in November 2024. It is a game specifically designed to be played with a controller, that intensely tests your left and right hand coordination. Taking inspiration from rage games like Getting Over It, and Jump King, it is a brutal game where the gameplay almost all takes place on one large persistent level with no real checkpoints.
